April 27th, 2018
Next week I’ll be putting up Disorienting Reflections, my display for the month of May at RJ Stohr in Pittsfield. At First Fridays Artswalk (May the 4th be with you) from 5-8pm, I’ll be present at the opening reception to answer questions. Full details of the display and previews of the photos can be seen HERE.
Also, as usual, I will also have 2 prints at the Berkshire Museum along with the Camera Club‘s display.
April 6, 2018
A very minor update to report the monthly change of the Berkshire Museum Camera Club’s display. I have two works up, though only one of them is “new”. I have been focusing most of my attention to next month, when I will have prints on display not only in the club display at the Berkshire Museum, but I will also have my own solo display at RJ Stohr Diamonds and Fine Jewelry. Information on that display is coming soon.
March Museum Display
March 3, 2018
As per the usual at the start of the month, the BMCC display at the Berkshire Museum has been updated. Until the end of the month (27th), I will have two prints on display.
The First Friday Artwalk in Pittsfield allows you to see the display for free from 5pm-8pm on the second Friday of this month (the 9th). That’s right. First Friday is on the Second Friday this month. Weather doesn’t always cooperate, so…
A Case Against Glass
February 12, 2018
There are now twice as many blog posts! Two! In this post, I argue against using glass when framing your prints.
First Blog Post
February 3, 2018
Only one blog post so far, but one is more than none. The blog can be reached from the newly added Blog link in the site’s navigation menu.
Two on Display, One for Sale
February 2, 2018
As is the case each month, the display at the Berkshire Museum has been updated. Not the case each month though, one of my works on display is up for sale:
The print for sale is a 16×20 “Double Arch” from Arches National Park in Utah. The view is from “inside” the set of arches, looking out at the sky. The image is visible below, but the actual print is currently on display at the Berkshire Museum until the end of February. I highly encourage people to go see the print in person, as the print really does have more impact than looking at it on a screen. February 2nd (Today) is the first Friday of the month and therefore the First Friday Artswalk in Pittsfield! That means you can go into the museum without paying an admission fee between 5-8pm to see this and other prints that are currently on display. (I will be there from 6-7 in case there are any questions).
As I don’t have any official market space on the site yet, I’ll leave the price open to anyone who’s interested in the print. From now until Valentine’s Day, consider it an auction. I’ll keep an up-to-date highest bid on my facebook post. Offers can either be placed directly in that post, in a personal message, or shoot me an email.
*If you’re outside my local area (or usual routes), you would be expected to pay for Shipping and Handling as well.
Four on Display
January 6, 2018
At the Berkshire Museum, Mirrors is the theme for the Berkshire Museum Camera Club’s latest exhibit. I have 2 pieces on display according to that theme, plus 2 more for my NECCC entries. All 4 will be on display until the end of the month.
At the Berkshire Museum
December 1, 2017
The latest display of the Berkshire Museum Camera Club is up at the museum. The theme is Portraits and I have two prints on display.

Mathys Photography got its first non-friend like on facebook today. Someone I’ve never met has heard of Mathys Photography. A small milestone, but significant when trying to expand. Also, scheduled a portrait session today that I likely would not have gotten had it not been for having the website up.

The New England Camera Club Council is basically a collection of camera clubs throughout New England. There are interclub competitions from time to time. In the Fall 2017 Digital competition for Class B, I received:
- Tied for 2nd Place in Nature with “Oasis”
- Honorable Mention in Pictorial with “End of Childhood”
MathysPhotography.com Officially Launched
November 7, 2017
I have been sitting on the MathysPhotography.com domain for so much longer than I care to admit. Finally, there’s some content (the easy part) and some structure (the hard part). Started with a WordPress template, but altered to the extent you wouldn’t ever know which template unless told. The launch should have been on the 1st, but time makes fools of us all. Insisting on doing the layout and styling myself is the main reason things took so long to get started. With the launch of the website also came the creation of the facebook page for the site.
