May (the) 4th (be with you) is the First Fridays Artswalk in Pittsfield, MA. As usual, I will be showing a print or two with the Berkshire Museum Camera Club’s display at the museum. But this month I also have a solo display at RJ Stohr Diamonds & Fine Jewelry on 137 North Street!
My display is called Disorienting Reflections. The collection plays with reflections to engage people’s minds. I have included works that are intended only to make the ordinary look exotic, but there is usually something more going on. In some cases, a quick glance will lead viewers to think they’ve figured an image out, but then they’ll notice details that throw off their initial impressions. In other cases, the images are more abstract, offering only fragments of a puzzle for the mind to play with.
While the eight prints will be on display throughout the month of May, the opening reception will be held from 5-8pm on May 4th. With the weather warmer (though probably not drier) than it has been the last several months, I encourage people to stop to see not only my display, but the many other exhibits that will be available on the First Friday.
